Today is Present
When we watch the movie Kungfu Panda last night, it was not just the fun we got, but there was something that I captured and touched my heart. It was when Master Oogway said to Po-the Panda about not to worry to fulfill his destiny to be chosen as The Dragon Warrior, this is what he said :
“ Yesterday is memory,
Tomorrow is mistery
But today is a gift, that’s why we call it present !”
Yes, he was right !!
How many of us keep on look back at yesterday, do some regrets of what we did sometimes wish that things should be better when I did this or not to do that,
It is good to look back to make an evaluation to be better in the next but to regret? It does not bring anything good than just dissapointment.
Yesterday is memory!
And how many of us often worry about tomorrow,
about what we are going to do,
about what we are going to have,
about how life will be going when everything is hard in this uncertain world?
Worry - in some intensity and under some circumstances- is needed, specially when it lead to something good or an awareness. Say that “I am worry about getting sick, so I keep myself healthy by doing exercises and take only healthy foods” or “I am worry about getting fail in the exam, so I study hard for it”. But too much worry is not that kind of something that lead into goodness, for example worry about the future. Why should we worry about the future? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet God feeds them. Are we not much more valuable than they? See how the lilies of the field grow, they do not labor or spin. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field -which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire- will He not much more clothe us? Who of us by worrying can add a single hour to our life? So, why should be worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Tomorrow is mystery !
But today is a gift.
Is this not a gift that when we wake up in the morning it means that we have a chance to life one more day?
Is this not a gift that every new day we have will bring new opportunities and hope as well?
This is the day The Lord has made
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Yes, today is present !

aku hanya ingat sabda ini ketika baca tulisan Mbakyu: Biarlah kesusahan hari ini cukup untuk hari ini….lihatlah Burung Pipit di udara yang tidak pernah menanam namun tak pernah berkekurangan makanan, dan bunga bakung di ladang yang indahnya tak bisa ditandingi oleh penenun terhebat sekalipun…apalagi kamu wahai manusia….

Tan.. Persis kejadian yang tadi malam aku cerita kan.. betapa sebelumnya.. aku deg2an dan gemetaran tapi ternyata lima menit kemudian semua berjalan mulus sekali.. dan sampai hari inipun anakku baik2 saja.. Ya Tan.. kemaren adalah sudah berlalu.. esok adalah harapan yang masih misteri… maka pikirkan saja untuk mengisi hari ini…!
